Blur - »The Universal« (live at Jools Holland)

Due to given circumstances, respectively: a former EMI (band) now turns »Universal«. Only three majors left. One being the mega-major. Good luck and get well soon, you so called industry.

    Metallica - »For Whom The Bell Tolls« (Live 1985)

Today is the 25th anniversary of the death of Cliff Burton.

    ‪Beatsteaks - “Automatic (Wuhlheide Video)”‬

New video by german band Beatsteaks to promote the single “Automatic”, using footage of their two sold out shows at Wuhlheide, Berlin. Wether you like the music or not: impressive! This is Germany’s best live (festival/stadium rock) band and by far the most entertaining show I’ve seen this year - at least in Berlin.

The Foo Fighters performing their entire new album live.

Broken Social Scene performing live at Terminal 5 in New York City, January 18, 2011. Full show. 2 hours 6 minutes and 20 seconds.

Boxhamsters - Prost Neujahr Jr. (live)

Surprisingly Yeasayer released a live album today. It’s been recorded at the 28th of October in Brussels. The trick is: “We are letting you, the fans, name the price.” You can choose between 0.99$ and 9.99$ - or download it just for free.

What’s your choice? (Besides not downloading it at all, of course, which will be mine as I didn’t enjoy them live that much lately - though I like their albums, a lot.)

Devo - “Gates Of Steel”. Don’t know why, but I played this song for about a dozen times today. Oh wait, I do know: it’s still a killer track.

Lyrics: Twist away the gates of steel Unlock the secret voice Give in to ancient noise Take a chance a brand new dance Twist away the gates of steel

Twist away, now twist and shout

The earth it moves too slow But the earth is all we know We pay to play the human way Twist away the gates of steel

A man is real not made of steel

But the earth is all we know We pay to play the human way Twist away the gates of steel

The beginning was the end of everything now The ape regards his tail, he’s stuck on it Repeats until’ he fails Half a goon and half a God A man’s not made of steel

Twist away, now twist and shout The earth it moves too slow But the earth is all we know We pay to play the human way Twist away the gates of steel

A man is real that’s how he feels

Get Well Soon (And The Grand Ensemble) are giving away a free download of 6 songs recorded in May 2010 at the Konzerthaus Dortmund, Germany. It’s something special as the wonderful band was playing a set with 15 musicians in a high end acoustic surrounding. You can download the songs through this link or visit the website and listen to a stream (btw, another great use case for the strong Soundcloud technology).

Tracklisting: 1. Seneca’s Silence 2. 5 Steps / 7 Swords 3. A Voice At The Louvre 4. Werner Herzog Gets Shot 5. A Burial At Sea 6. We Are The Roman Empire

Radiohead Live in Praha DVD 8/23/09 - for free! “On August 23rd 2009, a group of Radiohead fans descended on the Výstaviště Holešovice Exhibition Hall in Prague on a mission to capture the band playing using as many different angles as possible. Bringing together the exceptional talents of many contributors, here’s a glimpse of the result.” Download: http://radiohead-prague.nataly.fr - try a few times, the site is loading very slowly at the moment) 15 Step Edited by 00liadon Good job, kids!

Arcade Fire, Tempodrom, Berlin, Germany… Roof.

Robyn performing Björks “Hyperballad” at the Polar Music Prize 2010 tonight. “Björk is in Sweden for the Polar Prize ceremony which takes place tomorrow, where she will be receiving One Million swedish Kronor from the hand of the His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf himself.” I know a lot of you folks like Robyn, but hey, sorry kids, this is not even close to the awesomeness of the original:

EDIT: Looks like they deleted all the vids in their account. What a pity.

Arcade Fire are currently uploading their complete Reading 2010 performance into their Youtube account. The show was recorded by BBC3. “Ready To Start” is the first out of 17 songs. Seems to be their day in music news.

Broken Social Scene, “Forced to Love” live on Letterman (04/22/10)

Is this Sebastien Grainger singing with them? Woohoo!
