Twisted Sister - I wanna rock

    Classic(s).

Twisted Sister - We’re not gonna take it:

    D.R.I. - Beneath The Wheel

Dirty Rotten Imbeciles from Houston, Texas = Crossover thrash legends and logo/marketing gods.

    Sepultura - Beneath The Remains

I know, a lot of people would go for “Roots”

    or “Territory”.

Good shmasher but for myself, “Beneath The Remains” is the shit. The only other song is:

    Mötley Crüe - Live Wire

First single released from their 1981 debut album “Too Fast for Love”. The video was directed by Mötley Crüe and during filming, Nikki Sixx’s leg caught on fire - Live Wire! Of course there is “Girls Girls Girls”, “Wildside”, “Dr. Feelgood”,”On With The Show” and other good MC songs, but this is it. Even though not always too good when played live, as you can see in this video, haha.

    Napalam Death - Suffer

Good Morning dear Metal week followers. Wake up! (Yes, this is a repost of a posting in an older blog of mine. I’m positive to have another Napalm Death song later this week.)

    Sacred Reich - Surf Nicaragua

Another “fan video” for the opening song of the EP with the same title released in 1988. There is also a live video of their 1990 Dynamo Festival appearance on Youtube. Poor video quality, but high level Thrash Metal of Phoenix, Arizona’s finest at that time. (They did one of the best out of the many many “War pigs” cover versions around too - the Faith No More version was released two years later. And yes, of course, nothing beats the original (f.e. live at Paris 1970?) - well, maybe not this version exactly, but….)

Metal Church - Start The Fire

Fan video for this classic metal song on the 1986 album “The Dark”.

    Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden

So. It’s (my personal) metal week. And not a day will go by without a video by the best band starting with the self-titled last track of their debut album. Because: “Oh well, wherever, wherever you are, Iron Maiden’s gonna get you, no matter how far.” Paul DI’Anno! Paul Di’anno! Paul Di’anno!

P.S.: Hilarious! “Ex-Iron Maiden lead singer Paul Di’Anno at the Classic Rock Jam, Koseinenkin Hall, Tokyo, Japan, October 11, 2009.

    Machine Head - Davidian

A highlight in the era of down-tuned guitars, sound brutality perfection and technical philistinism. No wonder this is the first song on another groundbreaking debut album. Metal in 1992 was a complete “cross-anythinggoes-over” (not only soundwise, check the “styling”). Btw, this song has one of the best outros ever.

    Voivod - Tribal Convictions

RRRRRRRRRROOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRR. Official music video of one of the best bands foreverever. Guitarist Denis “Piggy” D’ Amour became a legend after dying “from colon cancer in 2005, aged 45. His approach to music was anarchic and experimental rather than strict and theoretical. He was trained in classical violin as a child. He was influenced by progressive rock artists such as King Crimson, Pink Floyd and Rush.” (Wkipedia) Voivod are recording a new album and are still playing shows touring the US with Kreator this spring and at Wacken 2010. Hell yeah. Don’t forget to check out even their late albums, they’re fantastic too though nothing beats my favourite tune and song title: Macrosolutions to Megaproblems.

Overkill - In Union We Stand

Singer Bobby Ellsworth aka Bobby Blitz turned 50 last year and is still maybe one of metals best trained singers (talking about being in shape) as the 2007 live video shot in Wacken proves: “Fuck you” (yet another classic Overkill tune). He still has a fckng six pack! Btw, one of their best ideas was the cover version of The Dead Boys’ legendary song “Sonic Reducer” live in Bochum 12th May 1986. One of the best songs of all time. See also The Dead Boys performing “Sonic Reducer” live at their 1980 Halloween reunion, with a special introduction by Joey Ramone. [Alternate version, funny announcer(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmVCdPe2_Ao). Back to Overkill, another classic: “Rotten To The Core

Dio - The Last In Line

    Classic. Song and video!

Forbidden - March Into Fire ( The Burning music video )

Another Bay Area Thrash metal band most popular in the late 1980s and the early 1990s. This song is taken form the debut album called “Forbisden Evil” (1988). This “music video” was professionally edited by Mike Juliano, taken from the DVD release of Horror Pain Gore Death: Volume 4 with scene of the 80’s slasher movie “The Burning”.

    Judas Priest - Metal Gods

(Live Vengeance Tour, Mid-South Colosseum, Memphis, USA, 1982)

It’s metal week (#mw) on uvmann.com starting: right now!
