Baaba Kulka - Up the Irons!
Please welcome polish band Baaba Kulka. I have no idea what kind of music they were/are into normally, but now they decided to put out an album with just Iron Maiden cover songs. Being some kind of tired of cover projects like Hellsongs et al I have to admit that with some of their stylistic ideas they totally catch what’s in the original. That said I’m also sure I won’t listen to them twice after the first “aha, well… okay” is over. And yes, the singer tends to be annoying with her overambitious nature of singing (in “Aces High” for example, which works perfectly on the instrumental level). Anyways: Time for some more real Maiden (Spotify link) as the countdown starts -> just 8 more days until their Berlin show. Hell YES, in the end they are probably my favorite band of all time aka everything before 1990.

The solo part. Love it. Well done, kids. And btw, this is part of a charity project called “cash fro kids”.
Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden
So. It’s (my personal) metal week. And not a day will go by without a video by the best band starting with the self-titled last track of their debut album. Because: “Oh well, wherever, wherever you are, Iron Maiden’s gonna get you, no matter how far.” Paul DI’Anno! Paul Di’anno! Paul Di’anno!
P.S.: Hilarious! “Ex-Iron Maiden lead singer Paul Di’Anno at the Classic Rock Jam, Koseinenkin Hall, Tokyo, Japan, October 11, 2009.”
