Introducing the Chromebook - the video
I really like the idea of working in the cloud only and therefore seeing the computer totally different. And I love the animations and the concept shown in this great promotional video for the Chromebook idea. But in the end, the fact that you are dependent on being online… not just online but being provided with fast internet access constantly (think watching videos, uploading graphics, etc.) is just not cool. It works in 80% of your beloved and favored wifi-neighborhoods and probably all areas with good 3G/4G reception via mobile, but having constant internet access on the train? Come on, no way. And what about data plans in foreign countries? What about watching a movie on your laptop in the alps? What about writers that want to move on some lonely island for their new book project?
I like the idea, love the video, but I am neither convinced nor hooked up. But I’m curious and sure it’s just a matter of time. -> more on TNW
Just discovered the Spotify Extension for the Google Chrome browser. It’s very simple but highly effective and comfortable. Use your mouse to highlight the text with the name of an artist or group in any web page. Click on the extension’s icon to listen to their music on Spotify. That’s it. And Iike it. No: Love it.
