Arcade Fire - Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)
The video embedded above is the classic version. There is also a much better interactive one, that can be seen and used and danced to via www.sprawl2.com. It’s fun.
BUT: If you want the full excitement I suggest to start with this trailer, then watch the classic video and then try the interacti… Know what? Do what you want. Just do it!
Arcade Fire - Ready To Start (Damian Taylor Remix)
Killer it is.

Remember the name Chris Milk? He was the director of the interactive Arcade Fire/Google collaboration video and now came up with another great web project: Rome “3 Dreams Of Black”. It’s a mixture between a music video, film, and video game – a project by Italian composer Daniele Luppi and Danger Mouse plus Jack White and Norah Jones. The idea: to navigate through a very strange dream – in this 3d tech showcase worth having a close look. Promise.
The Arcade Fire Grande Finale at Coachella Within “Wake Up” these balloons droped from the roof of the stage. Every balloon had an LED in it and could change colors synched to the music. You will see a lot of pics/movies of that in the next couple of internet days. Promise. (Somebody filmed the webcast here. A proper version should be available in the Coachella Youtube Channel soo.)
Arcade Fire - “The Suburbs”. New video featuring teenage angst, a lot of military, fear of and the wish for security, romantic suburban tragedy and: bikes. Directed by Spike Jonze.
Lyrics: In the suburbs I / I learned to drive / And you told me we’d never survive / Grab your mother’s keys we’re leavin’
You always seemed so sure / That one day we’d fight in / In a suburban world / your part of town gets minor / So you’re standin’ on the opposite shore / But by the time the first bombs fell / We were already bored / We were already, already bored
Sometimes I can’t believe it / I’m movin’ past the feeling / Sometimes I can’t believe it / I’m movin’ past the feeling again
Kids wanna be so hard / But in my dreams we’re still screamin’ and runnin’ through the yard / And all of the walls that they built in the seventies finally fall / And all of the houses they build in the seventies finally fall / Meant nothin’ at all / Meant nothin’ at all / It meant nothin
Sometimes I can’t believe it / I’m movin’ past the feeling / Sometimes I can’t believe it / I’m movin’ past the feeling and into the night
So can you understand? / Why I want a daughter while I’m still young / I wanna hold her hand / And show her some beauty / Before this damage is done
But if it’s too much to ask, it’s too much to ask / Then send me a son
Under the overpass / In the parking lot we’re still waiting / It’s already passed / So move your feet from hot pavement and into the grass / Cause it’s already passed / It’s already, already passed!
Sometimes I can’t believe it / I’m movin’ past the feeling / Sometimes I can’t believe it / I’m movin’ past the feeling again
I’m movin’ past the feeling / I’m movin’ past the feeling
In my dreams we’re still screamin’ / We’re still screamin’ / We’re still screamin’
EDIT: Looks like they deleted all the vids in their account. What a pity.
Arcade Fire are currently uploading their complete Reading 2010 performance into their Youtube account. The show was recorded by BBC3. “Ready To Start” is the first out of 17 songs. Seems to be their day in music news.
WOW. Go and type in your childhood address at thewildernessdowntown.net to play the new, interactive video for the song “We Used To Wait” by Arcade Fire. You’ll get the best experience with the Google Chrome browser. And guess what, Germany: “There is not enough streetview data” for my full experience. So you better pretend to be born somewhere else to get the whole fun. The video was directed by Chris Milk and built in HTML5. Good idea. Thank god for the internetz.
Read more about the project in this Wired article.
